17ackley hornet,brass

Wondering if anyone besides me has tryed using hornadys 17 hornet brass in the ackley hornet? My impressions are that once fire formed the case capacity is almost 1/2 grain less than reworked 22 hornet brass.
If using imr4198,and 22hornet brass 'rem' a full case will hold 12grains,
if using hornadys brass 11.6 is a tight squeeze, both shoot well, has anyone else found this and maybe share some 20grain,v,max recipe's

You'll end up close to .125" short. The 17HH is already .050" short from the standard hornet (1.4"). With the shoulder being 25° and longer, when you fire form it the positive headspace sucks much of the back into the shoulder. Resulting in a very short case.

Point of all of this, it won't be worth it and can cause throat errosion due to the very short case.

It's like using 223 cases to make your 17Rem brass.

Very well put Adam ! This very short case will also result in some pretty inconsistant velocity . Not a good idea .

Vihtavuori N120 is the go-to powder in the .17AH and I would assume the .17HH due to the similarity. Adam is spot on with the case length.

I've always used Hodgdon LilGun in my 17Ack Hornets. 10.4gr with a 20gr V Max goes 3725-3800fps depending on the rifle.
