17 Remington scope question

So I went into my local gun store today here in Georgia and stumbled upon a NIB Remington 700 LVSF in 17 Remington. I talked to fella at the counter whom I know quite well and asked about the rifle. He said it was indeed NIB. He stated have had it in inventory for some years now and with all their other inventory being bought up they started to put out other guns that never sold. So that's how it ended up on the shelf. $900 out the door and I have one.

So my question is really about scopes, with this flat shooting rifle should I get a scope with 1/8 or 1/4 clicks?

SCOPE DOESN'T REALLY MATTER BECAUSE I SHOOT 17REM ALOT BUT I DONT SHOOT IT OVER 300YDS IT HAS A 6.5X20X40 NIKON MONARCH I SHOOT 25GR VMAXS AT 4000FPS THIS SCPOE HAS 1/4 CLICKS ELAVATION NOT A ISSUSE WITH THIS LITTLE ROUND

I like 1/8 inch clicks better, especially for 300 yards or less. I have both and I wish I had standardized on one or the other. It can get confusing when I have two or more rifles in the rotation and go from 100-300 yards. Is that 8 clicks or 16 clicks? To make matters even worse I have two 8-32x Sightrons, one with 1/4 and one with 1/8.
