I'm shooting the 25 & 30 grainers with VV 133 with good results. The 20s won't fit the chamber in my Remingtons without considerable jump and then the accuracy is poor. Alot of .17 info of various stripes over at Saubier.com

What he said! Using it with the 20 and 25 grain V-Max in my EABCO 10tw CM Savage barrel. H4198, Benchmark are a couple of others I've heard people have had success with.

Benchmark gives similar accuracy to VV 133 with the 25s & 30s. I did not have any luck with 4198. X-Terminator is another good powder to try in the 17FB.

I just bought a 17fb from a really nice guy on here and this thing is a absolute hammer with AA2230 ( xterminator) and the 20gr vmaxs. My load is on the lower end at 19.6 but at 4010fps and 300 yard groups that would scare my .223 im not complaining lol

Is it a custom or factory remington barrel? I never could get ANY 20s to shoot.

Factory rem vls. Really great guy I got it from. 20.5 gr shot even better but the brass is so hard to come by! I shoot a very light neck tension. The 20s are barely in the case seated at 1.903 but its good enough to hit birds at 300+

Also, benchmark was horrible for me. Go figure I have tons of it haha

I think when I tried most of the 20s, to get to the lands or .005 into them, the bullets were only in the case about .060 or just barely hanging on. VV133 and Xterminator work the best with the 25s & 30s.

RE10x works real well with 25 & 30gr bullets out of a 17 MachIV

I have the same gun. I use 19.6 gr of h335 and 20 vmax, I an not sure of the velocity. Can push up to 20 gr of powder. I use load manual stated AOL. I am getting 3 shot groups in .1's and .2's. The rifle has been bedded.

I know its hard to believe from a factory rifle. I guess I got lucky with rifle as I can touch the rifleing with the 20's and stil have quite a bit in the the case still. I can't remember hire much for sure will have to check.
