Having two CZ 527 17 Hornets I have a lot of brass from early to current and from many different Lot #'s and some Federal American Eagle stamped 17 Hornet brass as well. I haven't weighed any that was nearly that heavy, maybe your weights are with primer. All mine have been weighed either as new unprimed or fired then deprimed and they fell into the 49.7gr - 54gr weight range. I've measured case capacity in all of the different case weights and they usually hold 14.2gr - 14.7gr H2O The neck thickness has a fairly large variance from Lot# to Lot# on 17 Hornet brass ranging from 9 - 12 thou though.

primers seem to all weigh 3 grains
