.17 HMR Hornady 15.5gr NTX ammo?

Picked up 2 boxes of this ammo today. I may not get to try it for several days. If I had some idea of how it's shot for others, I would get a couple more boxes while it's available.

Anyone tried this stuff? I'm going to try it in an Anschutz 1517, and a Savage 93R17.

Used it in both of those. Plinking ammo, i.e. poor accuracy, good for the grandkids shooting hanging claybirds at 50 yds.

THE problem I have now is all the hmr ammo has poor accuracy in just about every rifle I shoot here at the shop.Shot 1/2to3/4 groups with the old box hornady 17gr vmax this new stuff in the same exact make rifle want shoot 2inchs haven't tried this 15.5 ntx .

H/P, that may explain why this ammo was all that Academy had left.

Stacy, doesn't make sense does it? You'd think that as time passed, they'd get better than when they started. Also that the solid bullet would be better balanced, and maybe more accurate.

I'd still like to find some of the Fed Premium 17gr V-Max. It was the best in both rifles, and I only had 1 box.

My .17hmr's accuracy starts to drop off at about 100 rds. In the pistol, around 50 rds. CCI 17Vmax is the most accurate in my Annies.

I traded off my CCI's 17grs may should have tried those I think I may have some of those Federal's 17gr I'll retry those I think I'll have move on to a 17WSM this spring very disappointed in the new 17HMR ammo......................

I'm waiting until the first adopters pass judgement on the new WSM. In today's economy it's a big IF.
