Josh,Being that Proof is a cut rifled manufacturer they should have the ability to cut any twist a person may want.
They sure will, so will a 8 twist..What twist is optimal? Would a 1-7.5” work in a .257 Weatherby?
These bullets are making me want to chamber a .257 Weatherby.

Ya me too but What the Heck. Got so many now I can't get the load development done on most as it is.I have not. Would be fun but too many irons in fire right now.
Currently waiting on a Bartlein CFW barrel in .257/7.5 twist/M24 Contour. It's moving along quickly. Should see it fairly soon
I heard your thoughts ! My original build was gonna be a 6.5-284 for a lightweight Pronghorn hunting rifle. Once I saw the 131s come out, it changed my thought on that rifle. Less recoil, better LR ballistics. Probably a bit less energy on target at the longest ranges but much less drop with the 131s. Wanted it in a SA and your SA257 would do that. So would the .257 Blackjack (SAUM) case. I just like the 25-284 case so it'll be on a LA. Used for deer with Speer 120SBTs, I'll make it a lightweight whitetail rifle for woods carry at shorter ranges as well. I'm not really expecting many future .257 LR bullet options to become available. It's one of those calibers that just won't catch on. Having one good LR option is good enough with the few others out there for mid range shooting.I was on the phone with Brux ordering a 30" MTU (fluted) for
that SA284 of mine. I have a spare Savage target action that
needs company. I was told there is a reamer for the 284 Win,
necked down to .257. And I say, Hmmnnnnnnn !! Maybe a
SA257 in my future and call Bartlein for one of their longer life
barrels.......Always thinking out loud !!
Call them. Website is having issues with PayPal. They currently only have the XL (run with 0.020-0.030” longer bearing surface) bullets in stock but hopefully the next shipment will be in soon. Can anybody give me a site to purchase the 131s ? I tried the Blackjack site but it won't let me order. I don't think that site is active for ordering. Thanks
Thanks. Found a member that had a box of 500 for sale. Interesting tho on that longer bearing surface bulletCall them. Website is having issues with PayPal. Might just as well contact Blackjack. They should have everything youAnybody have a set of 25-284 dies they want to part with ??? Looking for a reamer also. Thanks.?? Looking for a reamer also.
Ya I've been trying. No response and no return contact after leaving messages. I'll keep trying.Might just as well contact Blackjack. They should have everything you
need.
Seems like a lot of wiggle room when using a 6.5 to seat a .257Would the larger seating die possibly cause some excessive runout?
