130gr 6.5 bullet alternative

Get more Berger’s and dry fire a lot

Yeah, I have to say that just having another 130 grain bullet might not do it...I have had very good luck shooting Berger bullets, not so much so with most others. Didn't used to be that way. I could shoot just about any bullet made in my rifles and if the rifle was accurate the bullets, no matter what brand {within reason} did their job. But that is not necessarily true these days. Berger bullets seem to be more accurate when others wont shoot.

I have a load I shoot at prs and some fclass put of my 6.5x47 with Berger 130 h vld's that's holds < moa out to 1k. with the difficulty of getting them I've stopped shooti g steel with them and have been saving them for f class.

I've tried several different 130's with nothing coming close to the accuracy of the vlds. I've tried nosler rdf's, golden target and cc eldm, eldx and the sierra tmk. The tmk wors well but almost as expensive as the bergers. I got the eldm's to work the best. Good enough for steel but no where as accurate as the berger.

was out the past few weeks shooting my 8 twist 6.5 creedmoor rifle, Savage model 10T. was trying the 140 SMK, 142MK, hornady 140eld and the 143 eld and the 147 eld. nothing really grouped well at 200 maybe an inch on some fluke groups, i happen to have a few Bergers 130 vld hunting match grade bullets, they shot excellent, only have a few left, they are costly, looking for an alternative bullet to try in the 130gr, going to try some sierra 130gr TMK next week, any other bullets i am missing to try that are not 50 bucks a box. looks like this barrel like the 130's by far.

Bruno's had 6 boxes of 130 target VLDs in stock yesterday for $41.xx. I almost bought them, but wanted more. I paid a little more for 1K from Powder Valley - still a little under $45/ box after shipping.

The JLKs can be even better

The norma 130 Gold target are real good, thats the bullet that is used in the PRIME 6.5 Creedmoor and 260 rem ammo. A BC of .583 isn't bad. they shoot real good.
