Phil

Berger lists thier 6.5 130gr. bullet bc as .552

JLK lists thier 6.5 130gr. bullet bc as .620

Is this real?????

I can`t believe thier is this much difference, has anyone found this to be true????

Phil.

P.S.....Not trying to start a war, just trying to get to the bottom of this.....

The methods that companies derive their BC numbers vary (WIDELY!!).

The Hornady 53gr V-Max became instantly popular over night, because of it's BC of 0.291.

Compared to the Sierra 55gr BlitzKing of 0.270(-ish), the Hornady is a slippery screaming winner...

... except when you shoot them in long range drop tests, the Sierra has a higher "true" BC - it drops slightly less at any range.

Sierra actually tests their bullets, with their own proprietary software, and if you use Sierra bullets with their "Infinity" software, you can take the drops to the bank...

... with all the rest, take the BC numbers with several grains of salt.

Berger's listed bc is a tested bc.
Their 140 vld listed at .612
130 is .552

A tested 140 JLK is rated .627
So given the diff in length for the two, subtracting .030-040 for the JLK 130 should put you in line.

If Berger actually made 130 VLD`s 1.4" like they say they do then maybe could believe that those are real BC numbers. I assembled a 6.5x47 during the span of no 6.5 VLD`s so had to beg and borrow. I ended up with 4 different lots, and NONE measure 1.4". Curious if the JLK`s are the same.

A true .590 is serious business...gives an edge over the 6mm 105 Hybrid, with exceptional accuracy.
