125 Noslers & 300wm

Matt

I shoot the hell out of this combination at woodchucks. I use a 17 twist 32" barrel and have no issues with stabilization. I do like to push them hot though

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Oh always use Norma Brass and I am right around 4050 fps and can go faster

For powder, I forget my charge weight at the moment, but it's N550 most of the time.

Yes I use those 125gr green tips they work great, I have a 30" 12 twist and loaded with 80gr + of RL17 or 85gr + of RL22 with a 3.20" coal are good for 4000 fps +

TALKING ABOUT GETTING IT DONE I THINK THIS WOULD MAKE A CRITTER MESS 4SURE 125GR AT THIS SPEED WOW !!!

This morning i tested two charges of H4831sc. 84.0 & 85.0. The 84.0 yielded 3468fps and the 85.0 yielded 3518fps. Both showed excellent accuracy. I only loaded just a few of each charge to get a group and chronograph.
The 85.0 had great velocity numbers:
3518
3506
3518
I didn't chrono but just one of the 84.0 charge. My barrel is a 25", 1-11 twist. I'll post more after the next outing.

And just so that the short action guys don't feel left out, here is an article from 2007 by Richard Franklin and his 300 WSM loaded with 125 Ballistic Tips:

http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2007/09/franklins-4000fps-30-cal-varminter-a-hit-with-hunters/

He posts a target and load information on that target. Don't forget to read the comment section...

There are several other combinations of light bullets and large capacity cartridges which perform at these high-end velocities. I happen to like the 6mm Crusader loaded with a 70 grain Ballistic Tip over a full but slightly compressed load of Hybrid 100V. This powder burns rather cool so the throat damage is minimized with this powder as well as using a 32 degree shoulder. Loaded with the lighter, shorter varmint bullets, this cartridge will function when using any of the SA detachable box magazines with the spacer removed.

Regards.

Richard Franklin That's who got me started on the whole concept, I have just adapted it to all calibers
from 22 thru 50 cal.

I picked up a box of the 125 accubonds to try on the next trip. Figure those would hold together better on deer.
