110 sierra bullets

I'm running a 7.5 twist and I think the answer is to have enough twist for the altitude you shoot at. I'm at 1,190 ASL and have shot several cleans at 600 yds. with this bullet out of a 6SLR going 3,050 +-. Took the rifle to St Louis, Mo. where the elevation is 545 ASL and it was very ho hum. Dropped a few points, but the X count was very low.
I have experienced this behavior before in a different rifle but in the reverse. I think a 7.5 will work above 1,000 ASL but for them to shoot small I'd use a 7.25 or a 7.
I hope this helps,

Lloyd
Lloyd, I had a 7.5" 4G Krieger, 30" 6 XC, and the 110's were shooting darn good, Perhaps the Mike Ezel tuner had something to do with it. I know little to nothing about tuners, but I had about 8 numbers that shot with tiny, tiny groups, H4350...all 2's. I fiddled with the tuner very, very little. There must be more to these tuners.

The value of a tuner to me is not making the rifle shoot small. That is a result of good load development. The tuner comes into play as round count rises as an easy way to keep it in tune. I never touch the tuner until I have a load. Then I give it one small bump rt, then one small bump lt. If you have a good load neither of those bumps will improve it. As rounds mount and you feel your tune is not yhere, now go shoot a control group, Then bump your tuner both ways . In a bump or 2 in one direction your group will get worse. Now go the opposite way from your base setting and in 1 to 4 bumps your group will come back to what you want. Some adjust by temp or humidity I have never felt the need here in the NE, I could be missing something , maybe. I have tuners on 3 b3nch rifles and have had for roughly 10 or 12 years. This is what works for me through 20 some barrels.

These bullets can handle speed A good friend of mine is shooting them out of a 6-284 at 3250fps + and they shoot amazing. He has taken them out to 1200 yards many times shooting rocks and steel. The barrel is a bartlein 8 twist 5r.

Hello Frank
Did you explore these bullets any further? Just wondering if you got any information. Thanks

I gave up on them from an accuracy stand point. I just cannot make them stick into a consistent tight group. So I'm going to say more of a PRS type shooting but I myself wouldn't use them for F Class.

That was in my BRA and it's a 7 twist.

I'm putting a gun together for my 14 year old in 6GT. That barrel is a 7.5 twist. I'll give them a try in that and see what happens. I'm waiting for the stock to get here. It was in finishing like 2 weeks ago.

Went and shot the BRX over the LabR the other day to see were I am velocity wise with the 110s. 2940
