On five shot groups... Four years ago, I asked Walt Berger if I should shoot 3 or 5 shot groups. His response... Three shots tells you if the rifle and load are any good. Five shots tells you if the shooter is any good.
When I shoot off my portable bench on BLM land or some farmers pasture in Ohio, I tend to shoot 4 shot groups. Reason: With three shots any number of things starting with the shooter could cause a three shot group to look bad. If at least three of four look good, I will shoot the load again with at least five shots in the group.
