Berger makes an 87 gr. Hunting VLD that should expand well and give extra velocity for the 6 BR. Although I haven't shot prairie dogs with it, I have found it to be a very accurate bullet.I used the 105 berger hybrid in my 6br on prairie dogs yesterday. my rifle really likes these bullets but there is no expansion at all. is there another bullet that is as accurate but will kill prairie dogs
I have shot plenty of prairie dogs with the 105 Hunting VLD’s. No they are not 55 grain V-Max’s going 4,000 fps but they do the job quite well. 0-500 yards then shoot light flat shooting bullets such as Nosler ballistic tips or v-Max’s Beyond that or when the wind blows I will take my 105 HVLD’s any day.I was wondering about the hunting bullet but their website said they enter 2-3 inches and then expand. that may be good for deer but not prairie dogs
