105 Amax bullets at 3300ft/sec?

While not a direct answer to your question; I've fired 105 Berger Hybrids at 3400 fps in Mid Range F-Class with no disappearing bullets. The A-Max seems to be a pretty tough bullet. The best way to know is to shoot them. Please report your results.

iI've seen several 75g AMAX vaporize into a puff of grey dust thru a scope. I think Hornady made some changes, though.

Most will survive. I have seen a couple go 'poof' at slightly slower speeds. Hornady says 3333 MV is the 'magic' number. Actually I asked nearly the same question to Hornady. They gave me a max RPM which works out to 3333 fps out of an 8 twist.
I have shot the 105 AMax faster than 3333 fps out of a 6-284 and they made it to the target, but I have since switched to the 105 Hybrids.

I have shot many 105AMAX pre amp jackets at 3300-3340ft out of a 3 groove, 1:8 twist Bench Mark Barrel. At 600yds I could get 4 out of 5 into mid 1" groups with the one bullet opening most groups up to mid 2"s. They stayed together for me. Haven't tried the Amp jackets yet. I could watch 88gr Bergers puff apart at aboout 40yds away when fired at 3300fps and above from that same barrel.
