is 105 a-max ok-good for deer hunting? hornady said no. what is your thoughts?

Hornady must not be shooting any deer to say that.
The A-max will flat out kill a deer when put into any sane spot..
Even the little .224 75 grain A-max has a pretty good record on deer...

Its like saying match bullets out of whatever wont kill varmints.

The 105 A Max would be my choice. Preacher's comment on the 75 gr A Max 22 cal is gospel, you can not believe the performance of that little bullet.

The A-Max sure can turn them into "Red Jelly"! This was a 168 gr. A-Max from a .308 Winchester at 2840 fps MV if I remember correctly. Target was 60 yards and although the bullet didn't exit it was DRT. I also yolked a 75 lb. Hog with a 162 gr. A-Max from a 7MM RM at 128 yds. the year before. It was quartering away and I placed it in the ribs towards the offside shoulder. It was DRT also but the bullet never made the shoulder and damage stopped at the offside ribcage. The bullet, if anything remained intact, was not found. Great killers they are if you place your shot. IMHO
