Sorry for your ignorance, you must live in in a small bubble. Apparently you've never been around anyone who shoots long range. Get out of your bubble and learn something about long range shooting.

we ran 125gr H something behind a 300SMK i@3200fps in a 45lb BIG rifle too lol. in Cameron County
taken to PM....so we don't upset the babies who shoot running deer with AR's and call us unetiical!

Beautiful country. My only suggestion is post a second pic of the shooter with an arrow pointing to where the bear was.

This is a forum with many different views and he gave the forum his personal
view. He can do that.
Now whether a 1000 yard shot is ethical or not well that is would definitely become
a heated discussion.
My personal take on this is that it is NOT a very good idea to post long range
hunting kills.
Not that they are not possible or that some dont possess the skill and equipment but other less skilled will believe that they are capable of the precision when they are clearly not.
EDIT: How many here could hit a 10" plate on a cold bore shot from a tripod at 1000 yards walking around in the field?

Never had one get away, or crippled one and had it get away, may have had to take more than one shot. I'm not saying it doesn't happen to some, I'm
only speaking of myself and the group I hunt with. we always have a backup shooter incase of a bad hit. Ten shot group at 1000 yards perfect score of 100, 4.275" group.
Well I'm gonna give you my 2 cents as well, did anyone ask the conditions? Was it no or next to no wind, is the shooter competent and experienced at that range, there's obviously alot of variables that need to be taken into account. So at what range should we stop posting our kills whatsupdoc? Was my 366 yard whitetail too far? Were the coyotes at 442,453, and 651 too far? What is the magic number to be considered long range?
