1000 yard IBS agg Match

I see the end is in sight, The current format isn't the problem. It is starting to sound like the current administration in government it the guns fault not the guy pulling the trigger. I really think it is time to pull the pin for me and hang it up……… jim
 
For me as a new shooter I find the shoot of format awesome, gives me a chance if someone screws up to be in the shoot of with a guy like Tom who I can watch and learn from and it's fun to even get into a shoot of!! Just shooting aggs would pretty much kill my buzz, with the shoot of every guy has a chance to pull one out and get some reward, I've been in at least one shoot of every match I've shot by luck but I've never won a shoot of, the guy who you'd expect always does but it's hard not to get pumped as a new shooter to make to a shoot of. Shooting an agg format sounds like a suck festival all weekend to me!!
Right now the most challenging thing for me to be able to hit more matches is time for loading and money for consumables, I don't want to shoot anymore than I do now with my Dasher cause I can't afford it. I'm trying to re-prioritize my spending to try to get money put away so I can shoot a whole season but it's tough with kids, full time job and trying to build another business.
I would definitely shoot a "Practical match" Saturday afternoon and I've already talked to a half dozen guys who would shoot it also, there are a lot of amazing shooting hunting rifles in this country and I would definitely shoot a match with one and a lot of guys would, I think a couple of the guys, if they hang around to shoot the Practical match would soon be fondling some BR rifles and heck their already there might as well shoot!!
 
Saturday evening after the match and before the fantastic supper that is being provided by Vapor Trail Bullets The members of the LRC that are present would like to have a small meet and great with each of you to discuss ideas and go over a couple different formats we will be using at nationals . Looking forward to this meeting and I hope everyone comes with a open mind and the will power to help us grow our sport and To do it while having fun would be great. Dave I have always said we can get more done in person, than trying to put in in words here. But shoot off for relay winners, group and score. Plus shoot off for regular group and score winners sounds good to me. Now you could have more of a chance to win. Sometimes you just may not have enough Ammo.

That's what we want to do Joe is have a good discussion about possible solutions and ideas and at the same time have some fun and fellowship . We have recived a lot of good ideas and suggestions .
 
Tom the group and score winners would still have to be your top winners there is no way around that. But we could possibly try and split the prizes evenly but give the Two Gun Champ two prizes.
I know Our club usually has more than enough prizes to go down to say tenth place in each agg. winners and relay winners. After tenth place don't put my name on it!

Three relay aggs winners like that of the National's isn't really accidental.. I would roll around the idea that this could open a can of worms that doesn't help the sport.. I'm waiting for a playoff suggestion followed by a "Super Shoot off".. I think publicity and promotion is gonna draw future shooters.. I don't think messing with formats will (NASCAR).. After all that, I like shoot offs..lol

This just for World Open but Bingo we have a winner. What time can you start shooting on Sunday? I seem to remember a church close by. Maybe another target Sunday before moving into the shoot off's? Lodging questions come up but this can be easily managed by shooting the last target before the shoot offs Sunday. For me a seasons worth of shooting in one weekend, what's not to like.

If I understand your question correctly about the two gun, my suggestion would be anyone making the shoot offs in either category, score or group, gets both a score and group for each target shot regardless of category. For the two gun both score and group are averaged in a multi target shoot off or a single number/target then ranked as currently done. Depending on the number of relays this would be the only time there wasn't shoulder to shoulder competition.
 
Dave Its always been 9:00 am Saturday &Sunday. And we can still shoot till 8:00 pm. But who knows these days people don't understand the Bang Bang Bang all day. My Son is a Deputy and the people in the area of there shooting range is just had them shut down. And there was just another range in the area that got shut down also. Dave you and I have been in this so called Sport for a lot of years, have you ever seen everyone agree on anything. Even when I got our club to go to 17 LBs. we lost shooters because they said we were making it to easy for people to break records. Well I'm still waiting. I'm sorry but I like trying new thing to see if they work, kind of like reloading if you don't try something how do you know whether it will work or not. All I've seen is people complain its not fair I was in the worst relay of the day. Been there don't that many of times. I don't like it but I get over it. So hopefully we can all come to an agreement.
OH and there is a bed and Breakfast Quarter mile down the road if you get your reservation early. All bright ideas welcome!

Thanks to everyone that came out to our meeting Saturday evening after the match .I fill we acomplish something and open the line up for the future and over the next few days I will post some results of test runs we did on different formats.

Here are the results from the mock run of the agg with shoot off that I done for nationals . I hope they are self explaining.
the # target has 2 set of results to the right of the page one is using 1 winner from the agg for group and score from each group of shooters the other is taking the top two from each group of shooters. Same was done in the 3 target as well.
If you cant understand what I have please PM me and I will go over it with you I'm the first to admit I'm not the best at putting my words and thoughts so that others understand

Please look over them and give your comments positive or negative once again this is a work in progress
