ES isn't always what works. Many times, small ES shoots vertical or big. Loads with bigger ES can outshot those small ones. Let the target dictate what load. Matt

This target is at 1000 yards with an ES of 15.

As you can see most like to have a low ES, but the more important part
is how well it looks on paper.
Sometimes the lowest ES isn't always the smallest group at distance.
As your reloading skills improve, you're ES and SD will lower too and
will show up at the target.
Don't let a number rule you.

It is just my opinion and everyone has one,,,
To Win,, single digit SD and 1 in. groups at 300Yds. Works for me.

What no one said was, ES is important... if it repeats with small .1 or less round groups at 100 yds over good flags and the velocity with in a couple FPS. group to group, it will shoot small at 1000..... jim

Yes Sir !! The target tells no lies.....One thing I learned over
a chrony; It's spitting out some good numbers early on but
them bullets can get weird further along !! My key word is
"Repeatability" and that goes back to what the target says.

if you rely only on chrono info as to low ES numbers it will be very short sided, often I will have windows that will have SD's in the 8-12 range against 1-3Standard window and on target at distance the lower standard zone will fail miserably not just in one setting or ladder but everytime it will "under" perform the window with a higher SD. Now in the defense of a tuner being incorporated you can at times take the lower SD and find the line up at times but not always. just keep in mind there are several ways to skin a cat but let your targets make decisions for you not static numbers, good luck.

From the looks of the targets at my last match the number is somewhere less than 23.
