10.5 vs 11.5 inch AR

Here my Daniel Defense 10.3" 5.56mm, Carbine, 1:7, GOV barrel.. cold hammer forged and chrome lined and loves 55's and 77's...

Shooting 55 VMAX with H4895 and 77cc with 8208 really well. Here's the 55 VMAX seating depth test and some 77cc tested at 100yd. This was with a bipod, rear bag and 5-25 optic on it just for load development to see accuracy potential. It sports an Aimpoint T1..

I cannot remember the exact lenght without looking at the boxes, but I have 2 10" or 10.3" SBR barrels. The 300BO is a Rainier Arms Ultra Match and the 223 is a Craddock Precision Bartlein (both Craddock correct Padom?). Both are  very accurate at 300 yards. Both have Delta Optics 1-6 scopes and both are run exclusively suppressed. I would not hesitate to grab either for 300 yards and in and they probably would work at a longer distance if necessary, but I have too many other rifles for longer ranges.

As padom mentioned, one of the TMK's, 65 grain GK, or other good bullets in the 55-65 grain range would work well IMO.

I have shot both rifles unsuppressed when I built them to check function only. Not a fun experience even with double ears. Suppressors all the way! Yes they add length, yes they add a little weight (or a lot of weight in Inconel or Haynes 282), but I have yet to buy a can that hurt accuracy and that length just brought it up to a normal size carbine +/- an inch.

Mine are SBR's because I cannot "like" a pistol brace for what I do.

Its been quite a few years, but when I was reviewing a package of products Rainier sent me for testing, yes Craddock was doing all their Ultramatch barrels they told me. The Mod1/Gen1 Ultramatch barrels were Shilen blanks and their MOD2/Gen2 Ultramatch barrels used Criterion blanks..

They sent me Ultramatch barrels in pretty much every flavor for testing... 223, 224V 300blk, 308, 6.5cm and they all shot really well.

I also tested their 10" Ultramatch Gen1 Shilen and Gen2 Criterion 300blk side by side and both were equally stupid accurate so the blank change didn't matter....

This was a 7x5 accuracy test @ 100yd from the 10" 300blk Ultrmatch after working up this 125 TMK load... bipod and rear bag and 5-25 Razor to test accuracy. I was blown away with how accurate this barrel was.

I then took it to 200, 300, 400 and 500 meters and went 10 for 10 on steel at every distance with this 124 TMK super load...

I didnt build it for that but it confirmed what this little shorter barrel 300blk could do. I also did a 220smk/cfeblk sub load workup and found an equally accurate sub load that is stupid quite..

I tested 5 300blk barrels and accuracy was 2"- 6" @ 100yd no matter the load until i tested this Ultramatch barrel...

Staying off topic for one more Post, I shamelessly stole some of your data before for my 300.

I have a gen1 UM in 223 in the Ratchet rifling and it will be hard to replace when the time comes.
