1 in 20 threaded action ?

Who makes a 1 in 20 threaded action? I have a chance to get a barrel and would like to find an action first so I can get this started. If some one knows of one please let me know.

That's a very broad question. There's also tenon diameter, tenon length, extractor cuts etc. For example, the Winchester M 94 uses a 20 TPI barrel.

Ray,

Yeah I guess I didn't think of that before asking the question. I don't know if this will help but, Here is what is written on the ad.

THIS IS A KRIEGER BARREL THAT HAS BEEN CROWNED, CHAMBERED AND THREADED BY FERRIS PINDELL. STAINLESS, 6MM BR,BENCHREST) CALIBER. BARREL MEASURES 22 15/16" END TO END. IT IS .760 AT THE MUZZLE. 1 IN 10 TWIST. 1 IN 20 THREADS. RECESSED CROWN. BORE IS EXCELLENT. MEASURES 1.00 IN FRONT OF THREADS. THESE HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AND SHOT VERY FEW TIMES. FERRIS IS ONE OF 2 GUYS THAT INVENTED 6MM PPC CARTRIDGE AND HE WAS ALWAYS MAKING AND TESTING NEW PRODUCTS. THESE ARE A GREAT FIND FOR SOMEONE LOOKING TO BUILD A RIFLE. GREAT GUNSMITH SPECIAL AS THERE IS SEVERAL OTHER CALIBERS THIS CAN BE RECHAMBERED FOR IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE 6MM BR. NOT SURE WHAT ACTIONS ARE OFFERED IN THIS THREAD SIZE AS HE BUILT HIS OWN ACTIONS. I HAVE HEARD THAT FN MAKES A 1 IN 20 THREAD. BARREL IS RIGHT HAND RIFLING 4 GROOVES.

I wasn't sure if possibly there was a mauser type action that I could use. Just figured it would be easier to do as a starting point. I bought a $50 barrel before and it turned out to be a great one. It was a 6mm x .284 for a Rem 700 action. Also if I was going to spend the $1200 on an action. I would just spend more and buy a Borden action and matched barrel. The money part really isn't the problem. I just figured as I said if there was a mauser type action out there that would work I could have a rifle to play around with.

Burm,
You can turn off the existing threads and insert a sleeve. Then RE-thread this sleeve to any thread size or action that you want. It's an economical way to go and should cost you a lot less. It will last the life of the action

Hello, The barrel may be threaded for the Wichita 1375, an old benchrest action. I know they are a 1" dia thread and I think they are 20tpi.
