According to Gene Beggs -even in a well designed tunnel the conditions have to be monitored very closely to minimize mirage. FWIW I blame all my flyers on mirage too.I don’t consider a 3 shot group to really be a standard to show accuracy. I’ve shot some unreal 3 shot groups in any of my BR rifles, and only wished it ended there. And it is not necessarily shot 4or 5 that screwed up the group.
Worse actually than the 1,000 foot quarter mile drag strips. It’s good but the race in my mind is not over yet.
I wondered about what he called ‘ mirage’.
I never shot in a tunnel but is mirage a problem in them?
It’s a nice rifle but not for me.
God, why is he shooting for accuracy off of a clumsy, wobbly bi-pod. All that equipment and he doesn't have a Lenzi to go with his Sabatti? Does the Sabbati accuracy guarantee stipulate how the rifle is stabilized when shot? Bet they don't anticipate it being shot of this kind of setup. One would think this guy with all his resources available to him (especially a tunnel) would have learned some BR basics -one of which is to line up the rear bag with the front rest. Apparently he thinks he is using an Edgewood with twisted ears.
Also, that is not my definition of "same hole" and why 3 shot group evaluation?
Nice group, but that angled horizontal will destroy your day in a score shoot.Insert
Sure. This was shots number 5,6,7,8,9Nice group, but that angled horizontal will destroy your day in a score shoot.
Never knew that, thanks. I wonder where the mirage originates from but then again I always think of a tunnel as under ground.According to Gene Beggs -even in a well designed tunnel the conditions have to be monitored very closely to minimize mirage. FWIW I blame all my flyers on mirage too.
Also,I’ve never seen a factory off the shelf with factory ammo shoot a group like that.Nice group, but that angled horizontal will destroy your day in a score shoot.
You didn’t catch the term “ TACTICAL “ when he was describing the first rifle. You can’t be tactical if you used a bench rest. Gotta shoot off barricades or bipods to be tactical.lol.. I like to shoot off bipods when I’m shooting because that’s mostly the way I shoot but agree with you that he needs to use a rest.God, why is he shooting for accuracy off of a clumsy, wobbly bi-pod. I guess I did miss that. I can't imagine getting 100 meter 1/4moa accuracy from his setup unless a fluke tho.You didn’t catch the term “ TACTICAL “ when he was describing the first rifle. I like the looks of both rifles and the action. Seem to geared toward f class shooting.
