  1. 6 ARC for youth.

If a person can't handle the distraction of gun fire they maybe shouldn't be participating in the sport. Depending on the need focusing through distractions needs to be part of the traing.
  2. 6 ARC for youth.

When they're improperly attached, when people assume that they don't need hearing protection because they have a (silencer), a suppressor they still produces over 120 decibels. Yes the indoor pressures would still be there but unless the need is dire no one fires a weapon indoors without ear...
  3. 6 ARC for youth.

After nearly 60 years of experience I make no judgments on suppressor use. Smoke'em if you got'em. There are Pros, Cons and Compromises. Facts are facts, from a military perspective they are a necessity. Shooting supersonic ammunition suppressed without hearing protection can damage your...
  4. Difference In Effort To Open And Close Bolt; Federal vs. Hornady Factory Loads.

Can you hear of feel the powder shake when you shake the cartridge? Could be compressed load in thee Federal.
  5. 6 ARC for youth.

Are aware that a medium game shooting supersonic ammunition is over 20 decibels above the harmful level? Use hearing protection when firing supersonic ammo always I have used suppressors and understand the need but prefer to not use them and opt for hearing protection in the field.
  6. 6 ARC for youth.

    I get it now!
  7. 6 ARC for youth.

Has she been trained by starting with rimfire/short/long/long rifle and working up to small center fire 22's first?
  8. Difference In Effort To Open And Close Bolt; Federal vs. Hornady Factory Loads.

Clock them and see if the Federal loads are faster?
  9. 6 ARC for youth.

I seek enlightenment, why would you want a suppressor?
  10. Difference In Effort To Open And Close Bolt; Federal vs. Hornady Factory Loads.

This reminds me of my wife when our first child was born. She had a baby monitor and it was turned up so loud that I told her to simply move my son into our bedroom so we could at least get, some sleep. ;) You're shooting factory ammo, there's nothing you can do about it, when you change lot...
  11. Facts RE SIG P320 Issues?

Why should range operators be embarrased? The Sig P320 is having issues with an unusually high rate of uncommanded and or unintentional discharges. Sig has had their engineer apply for patents for parts for the P320 fire control mechanism. Organizations large, small, private and institutional...
  12. Facts RE SIG P320 Issues?

The Military has made an arrest in the death of an Air Force Sergeant, shot with his Sif P320. Keep on the lookout for more information! The Air Force as far as I know has not recalled their suspension of the P320.
  13. 6.5 vs .257 cartridge question

Ok the 26-06 is not more snappy than the 30-06, it simply shoots a smaller diameter projectile, therefore it requires (at the same projectile weight) a slower powder and is best with 26"+ barrel lengths, especially with heavy weight, 128 and 134 grain ELDx and ELDM projectiles. It lacks the...
  14. Reduced loads for Garand using RL 7

I reloaded for the Garand for decades, I would not use R7 even for a 100 grain projectile . The burn rate is too fast and since the gas port is at the end of the barrel you may need a great deal more powder to produce enough pressure at the port, creating stress on the locking lugs.
  15. Facts RE SIG P320 Issues?

We're still moving to ban the P320 on our range. The tests that I've seen done are incomplete. By that I mean too few samples, no record of round count on the firearm, no record of customization, (by that I mean factory parts modular customization), no record of trigger pressure and lastly no...
  16. Two separate groups

I had a Remington Model 17 and a Mauser Model 96 do that in both caces it was an improperly bedded action. It's fairly common in sporterized military rifles, if fact the Remington is sensitive to how you torque the screws in the action. It took several attempts to get that one to shoot...
  17. Injury Caused by Powder Mistake -- 28.5 gr of Lever Evolution VS 28.5 gr LiL Gun

I went through some health issues in 2021, bunch of surgeries, lots of medications. It was 2023 before I did any shooting, just because I wasn't sure of myself. I did a good deal of shooting in 2024 (NO competition) and finally returned to shooting, loading and working with my firearms in 2025...
  18. Facts RE SIG P320 Issues?

The cartridge and the rifle are bad ideas. Maybe as a DMR but definitely not for general issue.
  19. Facts RE SIG P320 Issues?

I don't think that the P320 is cheaper than my Glocks. Maybe I got my Glocks cheap but the tolerances of the slides on my Glocks, Makarov, Para Ordinance and CZ are much tighter.
  20. Facts RE SIG P320 Issues?

I believe that the striker safety catch is disengaging too soon and that the tolerance between the slide and frame are too sloppy. The striker safety catch disengages, and you still have to pull the trigger .11 inch to break the sear. Why that far? When the P320 is empty cocked and ready for...
