  1. Release agent for JB weld bedding

Neutral shoe polish and Imperial case lube also work well. Some also use the Hornady Hot Shot case lube.
  2. PTG 700 action

Several years ago, I bought a Rem. 700 action, left hand bolt. It came with a .308 bolt face. I was making a 20 VT and needed the smaller bolt face. I bought a complete bolt from PTG and after about a 2 month wait, it finally came in. I had the action trued up with both bolts. I haven't...

  4. Burglar Alarms for Shooting Club

I agree with what dellet mentioned above. Only thing a light coming on at night would do is aid the crook in getting inside. You could hide an Apple AirTag to items that would be taken. With a hidden motion detector inside the business, it could alert you instantly with movement inside the...
  5. 10 22

Thanks for that post. I want to do this with my Charger after my new barrel goes on.
  6. The took the hay off today - it's officially Woodchuck season!!!

I'm right there with you Rick. I no longer shoot prone for that very reason and after knee replacement it's hard to get up. A tripod is your best friend. Standing or sitting it's great.
  7. Ruger American Predator Gen 2

I use brakes on all my specialty pistols. It allows me to see my hits/misses when hunting prairie dogs. When I'm at the range they stay on. There's a point of impact change if they're removed. If you're hunting with it and don't have a spotter or not interested in seeing hits and misses...
  8. Portable Shooting Bench/Table

I used a rotating shooting bench for several years. For me it didn't work out very well. I found it wasn't that easy to relocate when needed. I switched over to a game cart & tripod. I move around frequently depending on wind direction and what the prairie dogs are doing. When moving from...
  9. Ohio Groundhog 2025 Starts!

How's that Zulus scope working out for you? I'm on the edge of getting one.
  10. Savage Shooters

I have 2 Savage rifles, 6 BR and 20 Practical, both with JARD triggers. I haven't had any issues with either one.
  11. Still debating, 223 vs 22ARC

  12. V-Max, Are you jammin? Or jumping?

Not an AR shooter, but the system I use will work with the AR's as well. When checking out a new load, my arbor press and Wilson dies are always with me. I start by knowing where the bullet touches the lands. All my test ammo starts there along with a known powder charge that I think will...
  13. Rimfire Benchrest Pistol

You're not the first person that has had issue with this company after the son took over. I decided to stay away from them.
  14. shipmygun.com

I've used there service 5 times and no issues at all. For me, this has been the best route to go with.
  15. Desh savage bolt lift kit

Snake Oil Salesman: A snake oil salesman is a person who sells a worthless product or remedy to people for money. I found the desh a gimmick and not worth the money at all. Back in the 60's at car shows there was a company selling a gimmick that plugged into the top of your distributer cap...
  16. Need a Tool for Savage Bolt

As JB 10 stated, a cresent wrench is all you need. An open end wrench will also work. Very simple and easy to do. I keep one in my tool drawer in the reloading room. It doesn't have to be a tight fit at all. Adjust it to fit and slightly back off. Easy Peasy
  17. Calling all 20 cals...Let's see your wildcats!

20 Practical. It's so easy to load for. Pictured below is a 15"m 10 twist X-Caliber barrel mounted to a Savage 110 PCS. I also have a 20 VT, but the 20 P has become my favorite. Last time at the range it was averaging 3650 FPS.
  18. Rem 700 Trigger Question

I have a JARD on two different rifles.
  19. 6BR Norma Barrel Blank recommendations

Either The Urbanrifleman or X-Caliber for me.
  20. Forming Vartarg, would this work?

I like my 20 VT and it's very accurate. However, if I was to build another VT, it would be very simple. I would just make a 20-221. The only thing the VT gives you is a different shoulder angle. A 20-221 is a simple neck down similar to the 20 Practical.
