  10. Ease of bolt lift after firing

    If you have the bolt bushed on a Savage or 700 they also turn down the firing pin and lighten the spring which helps a lot. @boltfluter @Grimstod

  13. Staball 6.5 vs h4350

    Staball seems dirty compared to H4350 in a 6.5x284 and 6.5 Sherman Max and seemed to go from no pressure to over pressure very fast, good speeds but I don't think I would run near the top end as it was unpredictable for me. I shoot in the hot 100+F summer and wouldn't use it for that.

    Are there marks on the bullets from the stem ? As stated either the bullet point is bottoming out on the stem or they are binding in the stem and pulling out when you are on the down stroke.     As far as hot loads go tough brass like ADG or Alpha can mask the pressure signs over softer brass like Hornady. For barrel life look at the powder burn temperature chart and select a powder with a cooler burn. For instance N570 is about the hottest burning and will eat a barrel almost ~40%...
