    This discussion makes me want to do a tall dog and leave the neck long except pushing shoulders back with my closet bench just isn't happening. Tried it with trying to push the shoulder back on 6x47l to a 25 br to kinda do the same thing.

    Would you suggest a material other then 4130 For a bolt. I should ask that in what are the best materials for a bolt. I meant to ask about the 4340 you used not 4130 Thanks for the answer.

    Vertical maybe even cnc you can see the harmonics/ chater in the smaller radiuses and it looks like the lugs where cut previously.

    Concave tool in a mill. I have used them on a lathe to put a accurate radius on the end a part.

    I'm surprised no one mentioned a radius cutter but that could be a pain to . Probably need to grind the end and tip the head. Thanks for the pics it's good to see your work .

    Do you have a knee mill and a fly cutter. you could put that ground hss in the fly cutter and cut it that way. I would surface it on the cnc mill myself but you may not have that kind of setup. Or stand it up in the cnc and cut the profile with a .375 end mill and finish it with the appropriate...

    I like the idea of a removable bolt head but I'm sure you will come up with a good fix . Interested in seeing what you do.
