I have seen ground hogs on fence posts and up in trees. LDS
  4. 1 or 2 stage trigger?

I never understood why some liked a 2 stage trigger ??? To me it was just a trigger w/a lot of creep, that the owner paid good money to have. LDS
  5. Your thoughts about gun grease?

I dont know if it was the best or the worst, but I used AMSOIL synthetic tube grease on my 700 rifle bolts. Worked for me. LDS

  7. Vibratory Tumbler Media and Polish

It's been a LOOOOOOONG time since I have cleaned any brass, but if memory serves me, I think it was 2-3 caps full of the IOSSO in the DILLON 500 size. Give it plenty of time to mix before adding your brass. If you break up the clumps that form just after adding, it will distribute faster. LDS
  8. Vibratory Tumbler Media and Polish

If you have very dirty brass and want to speed up the process, use the household cleaner KABOOM. Soak in the liquid for a few minutes and then RINSE THOROUGHLY. Dry on a cookie sheet at lowest oven temp. Then polish as indicated above. The Kaboom will remove all the powder stains on the neck. LDS

  11. 20 cal cleaning rod

Buy a 17 rod and there will be now doubt its ability to fit anything from a 17 on up. I still have my 2 DEWEYS in the aluminum travel tubes, but no rifles to use them on. LDS
  12. No HazMat 12/8 at MidSouth ($99+) and Powder Valley

  13. Hazmat shippers - price increase

HAZ-MAT is nothing except another price gouge. A customer pays the fee and the item is shipped the same way as always before the fee was added. Similar to tax money going to stop global warming. Just another con that throwing money at it, is going to help or stop.
  14. Use or not use Blue or Purple Loctite on scope bases?

I have always used the hard as nail on the screws, and a liberal coat of Elmer's rubber cement on the inside of the scope rings, and have never damaged a scope, not even a ring mark. This was my routine before finally switching to Burris Signatures w/inserts. LDS
  15. A great trigger has come to the USA market

My My how trigger prices have changed in such a short period of time. If I had known ya'll were that easy, I would have been selling JEWELLS @ $400.00 a copy. If I had tried that, I'm sure I would have been shot at sunrise??? Just sayin !!! LDS
  16. Bix and Andy comp trigger issue

I forgot about a ruptured primer incident. I was forming some 20Tactical brass, by holding the rifle down by my side shooting it into the ground. I was talking w/a fellow while doing this, and did not realize I had 3 cases that had bad primers. That was 3 blanks out of 50, and I have no...
  17. Bix and Andy comp trigger issue

In defense of Jewell quality, that's a matter of ones opinion. The ONLY problem I ever had w/a JEWELL was because of a trigger hanger that was out of spec. and that was many yrs before the shut down. I have also read the bad press that Jewell got when they got dusty and wouldn't work. In defense...
  18. Bix and Andy comp trigger issue

Just a waste of time and shipping expense. That's the reason I never involved myself in Jewell warranty repair. LDS
