    I would be more concerned with who was putting the barrel on vs who made the barrel. As long as it is a reputable manufacture. I got Krieger's, Benchmark's, Brux, and Shilen's. They have all been shooters.

    I usually just use kosher salt and 16 mesh black pepper. Smoke until internal temp 155 - 160 degs. Put a BIG glob of butter on it, wrap in foil and cook until 165 degs internal and let rest. Melt in your mouth.

    Mine isn't a heavy barrel, it's a #3 20" 6.5 8 twist in 6.5 Creed on a M7 action. That rifle will hang with my heavy barreled rifles that are Krieger's for the first 3 shots. I really don't know what it will do after 3 cause I only shoot 3 at a time.
