Right Calipers

So looks like Global is at about $130 for that set and Shars is at about $134. Those seem fair. I’ve been wanting a set of Mitutoyo calipers to replace my “Amazon special” ones (I want to say they’re Kynup? brand). Anyone know of a better source for GENUINE Mitutoyo calipers?

I think I would look at the two and choose which ever has the best shipping price at this point or take a chance on something like Facebook marketplace.

You can go to any reputable online source like KBC tool, Travers tool, MSC, Grainger, McMaster-Carr or even Area 419 and check the prices on them to compare. MSC use to be better about having sales but even so I don’t think you would get down to the $130.

I paid $161 with free shipping. FAST!

If you buy the correct batteries for the Mitutoyos, they will last for years. Mine are 9 years old, get used at least 5 days a week, often get left on for days. I’m about 2 months into the third battery.
Duracell Silver Oxide (not lithium or alkaline) 303/357/76.
The best price I previously found for the SR44 battery is Zorro, the discount online presence for Grainger’s. It’s been awhile since I’ve compared but it was the best price when I did check around awhile back.

FWIW the 357 has the same specs as the SR44 except for a little less capacity. They won’t last quite as long as the SR44 but the 357 still lasts for a very long time in my mics and calipers.

these right batteries do make a difference, i get mine from grainger. the wrong batteries can affect the reading also when they are low.
