With the lifetime warranties like Leupold and others seems that a used scope is a good deal if you can find one configured like you want.
That's an easy fix.....Got to fondle a s-tac 4-16 today.
Pretty impressive for the price.
I wish it were the 20x. The 16x just isn't enough.
lol for sureThat's an easy fix.....-Al

Side by side is the only true way to get good, OBJECTIVE comparisons of pretty much everything . Otherwise, it’s just fan boys of a given brand about 95% of the time. The few ARKENS I have seen look a lot better than the Atholons I have looked through. I know what you mean about the Vortex, I actually ordered a couple PST's for a cousin and a buddy, I tried to point them in another direction but they wouldn't listen. They got the 4-16 and when we looked through them next to a 3-15 SWFA it was night and day difference. The SWFA on 15x was way clearer than the Vortex at at 6-8x. And that was their second to the top of their line at the time. It was somewhat usable but when you looked through the other glass you could sure see the difference. A lot of times people don't notice until the scopes are side by side looking through them.
I agree, and I hope I don't sound like a "fan boy" for the scope I just got. I STILL know very little about it, and what kind of luck I'll have. For anyone who has a true high end and reputable scope brand, this thing would probably be an abomination. Hopefully it will be the kind of abomination I can put to good use and enjoy. jdSide by side is the only true way to get good, OBJECTIVE comparisons of pretty much everything . Well, my "inexpensive scope" arrived yesterday. And it is a BEAST.
By all appearances, it looks like they give a lot for the money, and I'll say that it doesn't give me the feeling of "junk". It weighs nearly 3 pounds, and isn't the kind of scope I'd put on a walking around rifle.
As with a lot of Chineesium stuff that we see these days, I'm amazed at how inexpensive it is. I can only assume that the mechanical characteristics of a lot of these products has gotten so do-able with modern tech, that it's simply easy to mass produce.
Yeah, warranty on this also.Got a primary arms slx scope very similar to that recently.
Freaking love it... and has a lifetime warranty
