maybe I'm using the wrong term, it's the plastic enclosure that comes with IP System, I think you have it in your video, there's a sliding panel you can close to stabilize the scale.

Entris 1s. Paul told me they were discontinued 10+ years ago. I've had it about 8yrs. I guess i bought new old stock. Idk

I have the entris 64-1s, which I believe is the same one you have. I bought mine about 12 years ago, and it is awesome scale. Still waiting for Paul to ship my draft shield for the Sartorius…. I ordered and received the IP and A&D draft shield. Not sure which I will eventually use, but being able to use the 3rd decimal is very tempting, as Mark has indicated.

So I'm doing my first setup and go to do calibration, it keeps binding up. This is the culprit in my Varget, a kernel that's nearly twice longer and C shaped. It wasn't the only one like that either. Needless to say they don't feed through the trickler. My point is if you can't see anything obvious, might be one or more of these...
Was the hang up in the trickler unit or in the main throw side?
I recently had main throw issues with Varget {in an Auto Trickler Mk1 but updated with the IP Trickler} where is seemed to be that grains of powder were being caught up half in and half out of the charge area when the throw happened…
I would have expected this to be more of an issue with longer granules such as 4831 {not the sc though sometimes}
Not had the issue before but new jug of powder suddenly had 4 issues over 150 throws.
Now you have me curious enough to dump out some powder and go over it to see if it has some of those half moon pieces…
Place a small piece of scotch tape on the lite cup to bring them to the same weight then you won't have to tare it each time when changing cups.

Or seat bullets in between dumps and only use 1 cup, it's faster in the long run. Especially when you ass up and accidentally dump powder over all those open top cases and have to dump them all and start over.

Trickler cup, the main thrower seemed fine. It's just cause the slots in the disks expect straight kernels of x size, after I saw this one I was like OH, yeah that won't work. I had it bind up several times while attempting calibration so I'm guessing there were others like it in that batch.Was the hang up in the trickler unit or in the main throw side?

Once I had good powder in the cup calibration completed ok and the little bit of throwing loads went fine after a few throws to settle in.
I did notice a potential bug in the firmware, if the cup binds during calibration and you don't stop it via the X if will eventually time out. The issue is several times I tried it before realizing it was a bad kernel in there causing it, system said calibration complete when clearly it wasn't. It's not a big deal but something to be aware of. Watching it throughout calibration makes it obvious if this is the case, then just clean out the obstruction and redo the cal.
side note: this whole experience had me wondering what I got into for a bit as my Supertrickler has been hammering loads out lately. I had to remind myself why I ordered in the first place, marbles (ball powder) and horizontal rotating tubes are super temperamental to avoid spillage. A drop solves that problem and I'm sure once I get used to this unit I'll be happy as a pig in a mud hole.

This was from two small checks from the bottle into a flat bottom tray, <5min of looking, I'd say this qualifies as a problem but now I know why I was having so many jams in the trickle cup and yeah the thrower was throwing a wild spread sometimes.
Reference, those stuck together are normal length kernels.

Out of 100 gn's i found one that was not cut 2x long. Nothing like what i see in your pic.
I would contact them. Maybe at the least you get a coupon.

Well I found time to assemble my IP system the day after it arrived. Assembly was easy enough and I like the way it all goes together. A very well thought out machine. Using a A&D fx-120 that had previously run a V3 system and it took my dumb a$$ 4 tries to get all the correct options checked off in the scale. Once I did everything looked like it was supposed to. I did a calibration on Varget as an exercise, then did the same on N135 (my BRA powder) and then saved this profile. I shut off the system and scale and, after powering up again, found my saved profile stayed calibrated and charges dropped as precisely as before.
This thing is FAST!!!! Each charge only took about 5.4 seconds. Next priority is neatening up all the cables.

Yeah after contacting Hodgdon support and them asking for info on the other bottle I found it was not the two from the same order, but a bottle from a year earlier and the only one I have from that lot (yippee). I cracked one of the newer bottles and didn't see anything obviously wrong then tested in the IP and seems to flow fine. Getting a lot of variance in throws but -2 or -3 resolved and trickles good for an overall without over charge in the 6-10 second range, I'll watch videos again and tune as needed. I did increase the wait time from 1200 to 1500, that helped it settle a bit more before continuing, I needed to increase that on my ST as well, likely unique to my scale. I was getting the 5.4 seconds too but with the occasional over, I'd rather wait a bit longer and get all spot on. Good stuff, happy with the IP unit.

The longer kernels are from the die face, kernels that are stuck together will be separated in the firing of the cartridge. All lots are tested with these in the loads with no measurable effect on ballistics and are safe to fire.
