Best VV Powder for 62 gr eld-vt

That data shows a 1-12" tube. I wonder what the difference in velocity would be given a 1-8 twist needed to stabilize the 62 ELD VT bullet. Is anyone shooting that bullet getting such velocities form a straight .223? That would be impressive.
i just posted that flea is getting a comfortable 3,300 fps using n540 in his straight 223

I’m running a 7 Twist Bartlein M24 profile 26” Barrel
Thanks for posting this info. I've got one 7 tw. straight .223 that I'm going to give that bullet a go in. It also shows me I'm (likely) running my .22 Nosler pretty slow. I had never run it to "pressure" as I normally do. I just stopped when it was shooting bug holes - something I don't normally do. I'll have to see what it can do.

Keep us posted, I’m curious to see how it works for you.

I tried them in my 22-250 imp. but only had a 1:12 twist, I thought I try them and see if I could push fast enough to stabilize but nope they didn't work. Got a nice key hole group. LOL Hornady say 1:8 to shoot them. My Valkrie is 1:7 and likes them alot.

From my reading the 62 ELD-VT doesn't like going over 3,400. A 69 gr might be worth a look in a bigger case like 22 Nosler! The drop and drift numbers are crazy in a creedmoor!

I think that a 62 is a little heavy for 133, I think I would use 135. The old standby for that is H335, if you have any of that.

I've shot the 62 ELD-VTs in a Savage 12 FV .223 with a 1:7 twist 26-inch Shilen Select Match 416R SS barrel with a VLD chamber. It has a pretty deep chamber to allow it to handle bullets up to 90 grains.
I have shot three different loads - all from 2,762 to 2,764 fps using Varget. Sorry, I haven't tried N540 or N140 yet. I'm sticking to temperature insensitive powders for winter and spring months.
OALs were 2.572 to 2.576.
OALs and seating depths were driven not by jump but to keep adequate bullet shank in the neck (about 0.059 to 0.070) to maintain stabile neck tension. Anything less bullet in the neck than that seems to impact accuracy in my experience.
These were the 5-round group sizes at 100 yards from three different loads of 62 ELD-VT bullets.

0.1370.1940.3200.328
0.2100.2250.2270.271
0.1900.2190.2270.244
The two groups in the 0.3s were caused by shooter induced variations and probably are not indicative of the potential for this bullet.

All the Hornady ELD-VT bullets in different weights are actually built on the next larger bullet weight jackets, but the amount of lead inside is reduced a bit to force bullet expansion on varmints and thus reduces bullet weight. Based on what I have shot:
The 62 is equivalent to the 69 length specs.
The 69 is equivalent to the 77 length specs.
