I agree charlie b.And here I knew exactly what he was referring to.......
I have an Athlon Heras 15-60X56 BLR2 scope that is remarkably clear all the way up to 60X and that you can find for about $500. I use it at 60X to look at my targets and shoot it at 40X.Glass aside, what power you thinking on a scope? Ballpark.
A telescope does not have erector lenses or prism, so the image will be upside down and left the right. It will also be quite dark unless the objective lens is bigger than the ones I have seen on cheaper telescopes.I'm a BLM shooter for the most part and don't really care what it looks like size wise. The price on spotting scopes new and used is nuts. Maybe the glass isn't good enough for 600 yard 6mm spotting. I don't know.
Just curious.
That is pretty much my position.I get so tired of these acronyms everywhere. Most of the time if people can't write it out I don't need to read what they write.
At that price, it should be an observatory.I thought the March “Majesta” was a telescope!
I think that is what FX77 was trying to tell me and I was only kinda getting it. Thanks!A telescope does not have erector lenses or prism, so the image will be upside down and left the right. I'm leaning towards a drone. I can land it off to the side and hopefully avoid splash. Plus, I can look around for ATV, hikers and livestock. Multi-purpose for exploring too. What are you shooting.... steel or are you trying to see groups on a target? If you are shooting steel you can get one of those hit flashers, Horndy makes some now I believe that are a cheap price. If you are shooting at targets and trying to see holes and groups I would put my money towards a target cam system, they have built in apps that record the groups and calculate size.
how does shooting on blm land work? can you just go out there and shoot where ever you want? i know there are many desolate places in the US where it wouldnt hurt anything. hope it works out for you. thanksI'm leaning towards a drone. It is not automatically a free for all. The land is usually being worked by a ranch, usually cattle out here. In a perfect world you'd call the manager and find out if there is a place you can shoot/hunt/camp/fish. Most don't do that and can end up at odds with the managers.how does shooting on blm land work? can you just go out there and shoot where ever you want? i know there are many desolate places in the US where it wouldnt hurt anything. hope it works out for you. thanks
Bullet Length MattersDefine BLM. . . .
Your world and my world are two very different places. LOL!Solutions are not always the same for all. This was mine. Whatta Hobby!

I answered earlier that telescopes do not have erector lenses or prisms; the picture will be upside down and left to right. The principle of optics still apply: the higher the magnification the larger the required. But beyond that here are a few more things to consider:Forget that question
Can you use a Telecope for a SCOPE!!!
thats what I want

An Objective big enough it doesnt start going dark when turned up past 24x or 36x or 45x

Why not changeable Objectives like a Camera?
