My 10" (with maybe 4-5" of additional elevation capability) tabletop tripod for my spotting scope just broke. I used it for spotting POI on 100-200 yard targets shot using iron sights. It had knobs for horizontal and vertical adjustments; no ball and handle, and no telescoping legs, and though it was not inexpensive years back, its hard black non-metal (composite/plastic?) mechanism for horizontal adjustments broke and is inoperable. Additionally, there was a little instability (very slight wobble) built into the adjustments mechanism that prohibited absolute stability, particularly in wind, and in no wind there might be a very slight wobble in the spotting scope view. I am trying to avoid these somewhat annoying problems with my next tabletop tripod. Looking for a very stable bench top tripod without telescoping legs, with durable horizontal and vertical adjustment mechanism, and most of all stability with no wobble in the view. It will be used with my 20-60X Leupold Sequoia spotting scope. Any suggestions for a tripod replacement (brand/model)?
