Longer Range stuff

Have few specialty pistols xp's and savages plus a bunch of Tc frames and barrels All pretty tame In regards to previous posts. 7mmx284 is the hottest of the bunch on an xp. Have a pair of the Annie rimfire's and a Savage rimfire also 22lr + tc barrels of various descriptions for rimfire. Always enjoyed the silhouette shoots . A savage in 308 has been my main hunting companion for years now, swap to the 243 barrel for varmints.

I’ve got a few XP-100’s. These specialty pistols are a blast to shoot and hunt with.

I like them all but tend to favor the 30 Nosler a tad bit. However, the 7mm RSAUM is about near perfect for a specialty pistol cartridge. The 6x47 Lapua is a neat little round and the 7mm-08 Rem is nice as well.

I’ve taken three of them out to 1,100 yards on steel.

Have you considered buying any new powder? Those powder cans need to be in someones collection. :)
I am still shooting Hornady 180 SSP bullets in my 14" 35 BullBerry. I probably bought my bullets 30 years ago. Glad I bought plenty at the time. The 35 Bullberry uses 375 Winchester Brass as the parent case. Performance wise it is just a shade faster than a 35 Remington Rimmed. For shooting Cast the Starline 38-55 brass would probably be better (Thinner Neck).

Buttermilk are you the one who has a 308 Winchester Nosler M48 Handgun?

One of the more fun long range shots I made recently was 3 out of 4 shots with my 1377 air pistol .03 BC pellet 450 ft./s mv at 63 yards according to the MOA calcs of this front sight. I had to aim like 1.5 units up as seen in the 2nd photo from 20-yd. zero, and when I first set up on the bench and aimed that high with the front sight relative to the rear sight I thought for sure this was gonna be an exercise in futility and it was a jump for joy when I heard that first pellet hit the steel.

Congrats Steve!
Waterline is great.
thanks buddy! Be interesting to calc. the +/- .1 unit reference to see how far off it would've been for that error. Actually it was 1.4 units--been awhile couldn't quite remember. Windage is really fun though as the MOA/mil calcs use a sight radius from front sight to eye not rear sight. Shot a pebble off a roadside once at 40 yds. in a 10 mph xwind using the calcd. reference and that was another jump for joy. Love this stuff!

Kinda comical to say that 500-565 yards is ok but super long range isn't. Where's the line? Is it 566 yards? 600? My point is its completely subjective. Making statements like its not hunting is wrong. 100% WRONG. Just because its not what you prefer doesnt make it not hunting. Doesn't make it not ok. Its 100% fine if you prefer closer shots. I have my own limits and stick to them. By saying crap like "its not hunting" is making divisions within the hunting community which in the end will cost hunter dearly.
It is 566;)
