worth a try at that price... ThanksThat’s a heck of a buy!

All make sense I need to get with my Smith ...Kinda sounds like the reamer was ground to Remington specs vs Lapua specs.
My gold box Lapua measures. 4705, blue box Lapua measures .470 at the web. My 7BR Remington brass and 6Br Norma brass measures .4675 - .468 at the web...all new cases.
Opening the back of the chamber is good advise for your Lapua brass otherwise I might be open to parting with my Norma brass if it helps with your current chamber.
Thanks for the feed back...Yeah I tried my 45 ACP die and it went down to about .469"
I remembered my Forster 6 BR die sized everything smaller
So I tried it and it shows at .467"
So maybe a Forster die?
Why do you say they need to be .4685? Sounds like a varmint hunting rifle. If you can easily chamber them after sizing why would you worry about it?I'm looking to see if anyone rents a universal roll sizer ?
I have about 200 Lapua 6BR cases the web is at .470 needs to be .4685
and none of my 3 full length dies will fix the issue ...
Thanks
because they chamber okay but was soon as they are fired the bolt will not eject the spent round without a tap on the bolt handleWhy do you say they need to be .4685? Sounds like a varmint hunting rifle. If you can easily chamber them after sizing why would you worry about it?
Sounds like a similar problem which causes clickers right?because they chamber okay but was soon as they are fired the bolt will not eject the spent round without a tap on the bolt handle
Yes just polished the chamber a bit and putting it back together ...Sounds like a similar problem which causes clickers right?
Are you able to remove your barrel? set up in a lathe?
if so you can enlarge your chamber slightly
---
thats what I would do
I think it's better to start with a tight chamber and be able to massage it in
than the other way around
I agree Walt it is a very old Rem 700 is there anything I can do to gain primary extraction ?If they chamber ok, but then are hard to eject, your load may be too hot. Or, your action does not have enough primary extraction.
I can't get them to eject without a gentle tap with a small hammerWhy do you say they need to be .4685? Sounds like a varmint hunting rifle. If you can easily chamber them after sizing why would you worry about it?
Yes it is I'm at 27.5 gr Varget CCI 450, 70gr BergerTo fix the primary extraction, the bolt handle needs to be moved. LRI is a place that can do that. But, what is your load? That is the first thing to test. Is it still a problem with a reduced load?
I had one that needed just .001" larger chamber to prevent clickersYes just polished the chamber a bit and putting it back together ...
Being handy with a dremel is helpful in this field
After you port and polish a couple sets of heads with a die grinder, you'll be handy with a dremel. With more than a few expletives used on the way to learning how to be handy with it.
