22 LR cz457 barrels

Easy as pie to fix this
Match Directors announce we will be checking top 3 finishers in Factory--you may be required to take your rifle out of the stock and it will be bore scoped--If you are cheating toss you out forever--wipe your points off the site . The announcement alone will go along way
Shame is about equal in force to the Glory of a win I would say.....

Again: I like all of the shooters I compete with --I am NOT saying any I see are up to anything--I am simply tossing my two cents worth in on this conversation thread.

And..if you hate cheating go shoot a Long Gong--It does not make a dang what rifle you bring--if you can't shoot and read the wind you will not win even with a $50K rifle--just that simple It is the ultimate case of the Indian Not the arrow

Could you tell me where in the rule book for this is written as I can't find anything about modifying the firing pin.
You can pick up brass from a competitor --look at it and see if maybe they are using a modified firing pin--which is illegal

I heard that a competitor called Dawn Killough and was told modified firing pins were not legal in ARA Factory--I have not asked her myself-- Sorry Dawn guess your phone will light up today

Ok Thanks, I didn't see anything regarding modifying. this is the only thing for the 2026 rules about firing pin-
8.4.1.4.9. Original Equipment Manufacturer parts or parts that are OEM spec’d may be used to replace the following: firing pin and firing pin spring.

I agree allow to make changes, but something not requiring a skill above simple hand tools.

Exactly. If a person, with no initial thought of competition, can buy a rifle off the shelf and simply do simple things that does not incdlude replacing a factory component just to make it shoot a little better, then it ought to be okay for factory.

Rifles are bought and sold all the time. Whether modification is widespread or not, at least a few have been lapped, maybe polished or otherwise lightened the trigger, or whatever. Then somebody buys one without a clue of it being "illegal" and starts winning. The race is on. Just allow it out of the gate. If you buy a rifle off the shelf and can improve the shooting without replacing parts, it should be okay for factory.

Think about it. What if an off the shelf rifle just has a great barrel, a decent trigger, and good ignition. It happens, maybe rarely but it does happen. So you buy a 1,000 rifles and find the best ones and sell the rest. What's the difference? That has happened. Maybe not to that extent but it has happened. Is that cheating? No it's not, but it amounts to how much money a person is willing to spend to win.

Most things you could not prove. You may suspect but that's not enough. Again what if an unsuspecting person simply purchased a rifle that has a lapped barrel. No thought of cheating but ban them for life. Yeah right.
