I would suggest reading the article , and then make a determination as to what , and how it may effect each of us in our states . Fortunately the State of Arizona placed very strong Second Amendment provisions within our state Constitution over ten years ago to keep this "Gun-Grabber" mentality from taking hold .

Maybe I'm just being dosy but where's the other 77690? If they are sharing only some of the data then in my eyes they are not helping their cause. They include the count for all rifles but omit other guns, could that be because most of that 77690 are handguns?

As long as people continue to let others put out data that's cherry picked for their cause we'll continue to lose ground. What we should be countering with is count based on previously convicted and broken out by at least gang related and other previously convicted plus the really critical one, count based on people who before their "conviction" were otherwise considered law abiding citizens. My guess is that last one would be a very low number.

The obvious reason for that last part is to show clear enough even an idiot can see law abiding citizens are not the problem as it relates to gun violence. I'm not saying that would change their push, but the data should be in their face all the time.

They’d run out of willing bodies to attempt that fight.ll We live in very different areas if you think that would fly in Gods Country.

The NM governor found out during COVID that she could enact laws based on public health emergencies.

She banned concealed carry in Albuquerque for a while based on the large number of gun injuries (public health). IIRC a court finally overturned it.

She also got the gun transfer loopholes closed. An FFL must record all gun transfers, even between friends, The exception is immediate family members. At the same time, an FFL cannot refuse to perform the gun transfer but they may charge a fee, which has been minimal ($20-40).

Then she went on the 7day waiting period bandwagon. If you have a conceal carry permit then it doesn't apply.

She and the democrat majority usually introduce several gun control bills every session. The latest has been a magazine ban. There was talk about a California style restriction on 'black guns'. But, quite a few of the democrats in the legislature get elected because they do support the 2A and won't vote for more gun control. The margin is slim and the majority can change after any election.

The good thing is her term is up soon so we will hope to find a decent republican to run against her.

The Active Denial System is pretty cool. Worked with the folks who made it (Raytheon in Rancho Cucamonga, CA) and the AF Research Lab in Albuquerque. It REALLY hurts and I only had one hand in the 'beam'.

This is EXACTALY why the 2nd amendment is SO important! We have to keep "Big Brother" in check. Elections only go so far. The more armed a citizenry, the more peaceful it is.
