Olympic Rifle Equipment for Biathlon and Summer?

What brand and model rifles are used in the Olympics?
For biathlon, they're all using a purpose-built biathlon action in a purpose-built stock. Action is a straight-pull repeater, and most common one is the Anschutz 1827F. Every once in a while you'll see an Izhmash or a Suhl, but not often at the international level.

For the Summer Games smallbore they're using a single-shot .22LR action from a handful of different brands; Anschutz has fallen out of favor as other manufacturers have rolled out actions that allow for better ergonomics (among other advantages). Air rifle uses a .177 caliber PCP, again purpose built from most of the same brands as smallbore.

Thanks folks.
This post got changed and moved because,
it got moved to competition forum.

Just saying because I try not to post in forums I know nothing about.

10m air rifle: Anschutz, Walther, Feinwerkbau
Smallbore: Anschutz, Bleiker, Grunig & Elmiger
Biathlon: Anschutz 1927s with Fortner actions.

No Pardini in the 10m AR, or Walther in the 50m events? I believe both 50m gold medals at the Paris games were won with KK500s.
I wasn’t aware of Pardini making great air rifles until now.

Walther certainly is worth mention in 50m but I stopped at three.

back in the day, they used CF rifles. I saw a Sako 243, heavy barrel from the 1970s with Redfield (probably) sights. It was near new, and I think it was set up for olympic competition. I always regretted not buying that.

The last Olympic 300 meter rifle event was shot at the 1972 Munich Olympics. After that only 50 meter and 10 meter events are held. The ISSF still conduct 300 meter events at the World Championships. Most of the modern factory rifles like Grunig & Elmiger and Blieker use the 6mmBR. I shot a few 300 meter matches in the late 90's and early 2000's and loved the experience. Its a shame that it's not on the current Olympic program. The ranges are too big and too expensive for each host nation.

300m is still being shot at the Minneapolis Rifle Club. Two members from there qualified and shot in the 300m World Championships in Cairo Egypt 2025.

There isn't much cross over between the 300m shooters and the typical sling shooting here in the US.

One of the more difficult obstacles in 300M is total weight of rifle. Few if any prone rifles would ever meet the low weight restriction.

Maybe for Standard Rifle (5.5kg max) but that's not true at all for Free Rifle (8.0kg).

5.5kg is 12.2 pounds, 8kg is 17.6 pounds.

For a little context... in Silhouette the max weight for a Standard rifle is 10 pounds, 2 ounces. Hunter Rifle is 9 pounds, and the majority of people build one Hunter rifle and shoot it in both classes.

I wish I could use a 12 pound rifle in Silhouette!
