Never have put mine on uneven surfaces or experienced this issue. I miss the air glide case!Guess I’m the outlier on this issue. I found the Airglide to be OK but on uneven surfaces it’s top heavy and prone to tipping.
Nor cost as much as your rifle.I love my airglides. Too bad they’re gone. What I don’t want is a case that weighs three times my rifle!!
I have 3-4 airglides. PricelessNever have put mine on uneven surfaces or experienced this issue. I miss the air glide case!
They are priceless, now. I have carted my benchrest rifles thousands of road miles over the last 30 years mostly housed in air glide cases. It must have been a slow seller hence them ditching it. About 7 years ago I contacted Plano to buy some foam inserts. They shipped me 4 sets. The included invoice said complimentary. Wonderful company, except for their decision to discontinue the air glide case.I have 3-4 airglides. Priceless
I have several of those rifle cases. The first one a 4” wide stock would probably fit. The last three I bought I could barely get the zipper closed on a 3” wide stock on my F class rifles. They changed the foam density and I had to buy a foam knife to cut some out in order to get them to fit.Anyone know if the Champion's Choice case will fit a 4" benchrest rifle? I see one review where he said it wouldn't on the 52" model.
Thank you. I was afraid that would happen. It would be nice to find a really good soft case for 4" BR rifles.I have several of those rifle cases. The first one a 4” wide stock would probably fit. Possibly. Maybe someone here could put together a electronic petition or interest form of sorts, have it available to sign for a period of time and then send it to Plano.I still think a bunch of emails sent to Plano for it’s reintroduction might be worth our time.
I contacted the same little over a year ago. Young lady I talked to put it in front of a group in their weekly supply meetings but came back indicating that product line to stay discontinued. She did contact her warehouse reps to see if there was any remaining stock. None found but the effort was there..I spoke with two folks at Plano and begged--I offered to order 100 cases if they would make them again
Crickets....I mean they were not interested whatsoever
I told the lady I would wire the funds for the order upfront--that there WAS demand for these cases and they were missing the boat.
The best answer at this point is someone in LA to take a pristine case to the trade show hall there --see the China guys--drop it in their lap--get a quote and in a few months we would have cases again--sounds harsh but...........
Why on earth some one , some business would not fill this void is beyond me
I have been buying every single one I can find--some dirt cheap some at disgusting high prices BUT...I have cases --I like to average out my price in my mind--a $10 one with a $150 one equals $80 each kind of thinking--makes me feel better at any rate.
I figure the best way to get them again is for me to keep paying stupid prices for old ones then for sure they will reissue them and leave me holding the bag ( I mean case)
