Best Lanolin and Vaseline Ratio For Homemade Case Sizing Die Wax

and i found royal to be more consistent measuring set back. I think its a bit thinner than imperial, i think the warmth of your hands melts it a bit so it goes on thinner. I used imperial for ever, but now have switched to royal. it does seem a little easier sizing effort for me also. but there is nothing wrong with imperial.
Ive tried the kick ass lanolin brew, it works fine but like the royal best.

Warning to those using One Shot. I used for years on 6 BR, BRA and Dasher with good results. Ran into big issues when trying on
7SAUM. Could have been a die issue but problem went away with Imperial. Had a stuck case and pulled a case apart!

I'll stick to my 12/1 alcohol/lanolin mixture for sizing and case forming.

A 5-10 minute spin in the tumbler cleans it off.

0ne bottle of pure lanolin off Fleabay lasts for years. It's the best I've used over 51 years.
Same here and all I use anymore except I go a little heavier with 10:1.

Royal case lube{sharp shooter] requires about 1/2 the sizing effort.....wipes clean with simple microfiber towel. Better in every way.
Given this, why anybody would screw with home-brew is hilarious.
I agree Royal Case Lube by Sharpshooter works great. I have a tub sitting by my 650 for the occasions I'm only doing a few cases.

The difference for me is cost for high production.

I can make 1 gallon of alcohol/lanolin lube for about $50 +/- shipped. The same amount of Royal Case Lube pump bottle or aerosol would be about $240 +/- @ $15/8 oz plus shipping.

If you're only processing hundreds of cases a year Royal's a good product.....10,000's that's a different $ story.

I make my own. 10:1 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to liquid anhydrous lanolin. Spray into a baggie, then add brass. Agitate briefly, then dump cases into a bowl and allow alcohol to flash off.

Natural lanolin is insoluble. However, someone figured out the chemistry to make it water-soluble lanolin, called PEG-75 Lanolin.

Mix PEG-75 Lanolin with the 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and use it same way. After finished sizing the cases just run them under hot water to rinse off the lube.
Thanks for the info...been using regular lanolin and iso alcohol for the past 10 years @ a 8-1 ratio. Can the same ratio of alcohol to lanolin be used with the PEG-75?

My “Belly Wax” is the best on the market but I’m biased

Loading a few cases, Imperial works well, just takes a little time to be consistent.

At the end of my season I’ve got many hundreds of cases in three calibers all needing full processing. Once it’s time for resizing, I went to the home mixed 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and Lanolin, mixed 10:1. Laid a couple hundred 223 cases on an old cookie sheet, gave them a light spray, a little shake, another light spray and let them dry. Key here is light, a little goes a long way.
Sizing was neat, slick and consistent. I was able to easily fly through resizing.
The only issue is cleaning off the lube, lanolin isn’t soluble in water, but I found a 1/2 hour tumble w/o pins or chips in very hot water, a squirt of Dawn and a bit of Lemishine did the job.
I’m sure other lubes work, but this one does a nice job.
Exactly!
