NRA Board Voting

Good start guys. I'm making a list of recommended candidates and write ins. If you guys want I'll happily post the entire list before the voting deadline. I am a member of 4 or 5 other shooting forums and if any members of those have recommendations they will also be on the list. Just received my Rifleman mag yesterday don't know when the voting deadline is but I'll look it up later today and post it here tomorrow.

Mike

I checked my voting info, Deadline for them to receive your ballot is 3/29/26, I will post the list of recommendations on March first, that should give you plenty of time to get your ballets into the NRA.

Any suggestions on who to vote for? I know last year there was a member that had a post about it, anything this year?
Many of you may remember, I am a FORMER life member, so I won't be voting. I would like to see the NRA turned around, and WLP prosecuted. Maybe then I will rejoin. Thanks for trying, don't give up. I would encourage you to look up salaries for CEOs of non-profits, I just did that. Wide margin from $54K to $700K depending on size/location. PLEASE look it up, just type in CEO non-profit pay, then make your decision. BE INFORMED!!!!!!!!!

I like the $0 compensation people.

That's a better scam than running a Learing Center. Looks like politician's pay scale.

I've been on several boards and committees over the years and never received a frikkin dime. I was on the board of the Iowa Limestone Producers Association for 8 years and President in 1993. I did get a free motel room from the organization the night I became President.

Compensation for top officials at the National Rifle Association (NRA), particularly for former CEO Wayne LaPierre, was primarily determined by the
NRA Board of Directors and its Officers Compensation Committee.

Like-
Congress has the constitutional authority to determine its own pay, though they rarely vote for direct salary increases due to political backlash.

As I promised in my first post in this thread, I said I would list all of the recommended names from my various forums. Interestingly I only got names from this forum, what I learned that generally among the shooting community, there is a genuine lack of desire to support the NRA and what they are attempting to do.

Here is the list - All from this forum:

Write in Charles Rowe, Wadsworth, OH
Steven Schreiner
Huey Laugesen
Jay Wallace
Todd Vandermyde
Mark Robinson
Mark Vaughn
Jim Wallace
Amanda Suffercool
Amy Lovato
Charlie Hiltunem

I gave up my 'Life Membership' quite a few years ago, but I would still like to be supportive of all shooters. I would like to make a suggestion for electing the board members. We have lots of communication avenues available, candidates should have a 'Facebook' page, blog, or whatever else is available to communicate with many people (members). The candidates not only should but MUST discuss the illegalities, fraud and embezzlement that happened and better methods of prevention and prosecution of anyone that had liability. Being a 'competitive' shooter or 'gunsmith' does not mean the person has the knowledge or skills to direct a non-profit organization the size of the NRA. Any board members that served with WLP should be gone, they may have liability for failure of their fiduciary responsibility. Ignorance is not an excuse, they should have known something was fishy. I wish the membership and the NRA well.
Agreed. I've seen nothing from the NRA that acknowledges WLP's criminal activity or his internal accomplices, or a reorganization that includes re-writing the by-laws to prevent similar future criminal behavior among executives and board members. From where I sit they've just treated Wayne's departure as normal turnover. Until the NRA offers a mea culpa with real reforms, I have no use for them.
