What don't kill you makes you stronger. Hooked onto my enclosed trailer yesterday at -10*. Wife and I headed out to help our granddaughter move. When the blizzard of 69 hit NH on opening day od deer season, I was on the north side of a mountain, hunting, wind got up to 50 and the snow was coming down so hard you could not tell if you were going up or going down for the mountain and the valleys. I knew there was a bowl top on the mountain with a swamp on top of that mountain. About that time I heard the first close rifle shot and felt the earth trimble, I had read the short story about the widow makers in the NE Woods and how scary they were. When the tree tops start coming out of the big spruce trees. In a blizzard you are blind. I knew the swamp did not have big trees inside it, so that is where I headed by dead reckoning. I got to the edge of the water and headed right out into the waist deep water. Live or die, cold or not. By the time that day was over and I had found my car, I had had enough. I moved back to FL shortly thereafter. I got to see 100 inches of snow in 24 hours and never wanted to see it again.
