Well, I might just be back to my original plan and leave it as a 22-250 and run it through the shop for accuracy and shoot it. Somewhere down the road, something will come together. I will stick with a 50-grain tipped bullet. Thanks for the input, guys!

Mike, I have a 26" Douglas that is 5/8 at the muzzle that came off a 700 footprint. It shoots 50G Ballistic tips between 3/4 and 1/2. I would let you have for 150 you could use it to fireform your cases while waiting for the new barrel.

I have a .22-250 XP-100 and .22-250 XP-R 100 handguns. They have 1:12 twists. Both shoot 50 & 40 gr. bullets great. I use them for WV groundhogs & ID rockchucks. Both have taken a little over 2800 chucks.
I tried VMaxes a while, then BTs. THe BTs cause a little more damage & shoot better in my guns (3/8" ). I switched to 40 gr. BTs 4 years ago for the speed & slightly flatter trajectory.
This year in ID the winds were 15-25 mph. The 40s held up well out to 350 yds. Even taken a few deer on crop damage permits with the 40. DRT with high shoulder shots out to 200 yds.

I have a 22-260AI and it’s one of my favorites.

It is a 700 with a factory barrel that’s been chambered to 22-250AI. It shoots around .25 MOA with many loads. I use it mainly for prairie dog long distance shooting.

There is nothing wrong with, an ole' .22-250 Rem., Loaded w / 50 gr V-Maxes or, SBK's or, 52 gr. ELD-M's at, 3550 -3,600 fps ( Accuracy Node ) in my 1-14 twist, Rem 700 Bbl and with NO, "Muzzle Jump" to SEE, the "Splodies" !

Witt Machine makes, a Pretty Good "Add on", ( a Clamp on, Brake ) with No Threading, Req'd .
I drilled out, the Top port Holes, a Bit Bigger, on Mine, to be able to See, the Sage Rats,.. Explode !
Keep Bullet weight ( @ 50- 52 grains ) and Velocity "Down" to, "Reasonable Levels",.. by Handloading !
And,.. Enjoy !

I do not. I reached out to EC regarding his brake/Tuner. No reply. I like the concept of killing two birds with one stone on his product. Generally, I do not like brakes due to noise!

They Do "Work" ( with Slight Modification ) and are very Reasonably priced.
