New Aero Precision M5 build using A5 Buffer tube , Tubbs Flatwire spring and H3 Carbine buffer, 16” Aero Upper with adjustable gas block, help

You kind of lost me there. Maybe because I’m not familiar with the models.

It sounds like you have a heavier than normal buffer installed.
Then you say you want put in a lighter buffer, and enlarge the gas port.
Thats backwards

If you put in a lighter buffer, you should be able to cut off more gas. You certainly should not need to shave more off the port, make it larger, provide more gas.
No it’s my fault , because of the batch of Run on sentence’s as well.

So I bought this Aero M5 as a complete Lower. As it was Built using the standard DPMS AR15 Carbine Buffer tube and Stubby AR.308 Buffer/ basically a cut down AR15 Carbine buffer

People say that’s too light and that it causes bolt bounce, and ruins dwell time..etc

A couple guys informed me that the origional AR10 used an Longer carbine buffer tube, then a standard AR15/Standard buffer (Just heavier) and an AR10 rifle Spring, i read that the origional AR10 Used an H3 5.4oz Buffer

So I installed and built the rifle like it was originally designed (The big bore AR10) as this is a variant ,

What i was saying was that , I’ll run it like this, and try going down in buffer weight and seeing if I can drop the gas..if I start getting bounce …or failure to load the next round..then maby bringing the weight back up and opening the port a touch to gain more wiggle room…IF needed ,is in order

As the gas port erodes from use, it will flow more. As your setup breaks in, you might have to restrict flow.

If "shave" refers to enlarging the gas port, don't do that.
Yes I was going to drill it out potentially, if it ended up being a little too small as seems to be pointed too.

It is cycling fine with the Buffer weight that was originally in the AR10, so I thought if all else fails..(Going lighter)..etc..to maby open it a bit so that I’m not bottleneck’ed by the port

In case of a weaker load? Etc..
