Well I took the .223 Prairie Dog gun out to the range today to see if there is still any "life" left in the barrel. It currently has close to 11,000 rounds fired. It has been in service for 11 years of Prairie Dog hunts plus general range time.
Well I think I answered the question.
It continues to amaze me with its longevity..

5 rounds fired at 500 yards: 1.38" group (.26 MOA)
.223 McGowen heavy barrel
53gr V-Max bullet with a muzzle velocity of 3,150 fps
NightForce NXS scope.
This barrel, when retired, will be replaced with an URB barrel!
