Just Back from Capstone for Lapua lots

I brought my newer Tikka T1X and my Bergara B14R. Dreaming they would both like the same lot
but Oh-No honey. As you can only buy one case of the lot you chose I bought the CTR X lot that
shot best in the Tikka as it slightly outshined the Bergara.
I highly recommend the trip for anyone shooting .22LR competitively.

These are my V22 results for comparison:

So a .480” group center/center for how many ever shots, was it 10 or 20, I don’t remember. Those results give me a migraine trying to read it.

Unless the test center has changed how they measure, the op post is 20 shots .60 in diameter, not center to center. Center to center would be closer to .38. Big difference between 5 shots and 20.

Edge to edge is the way they measure. I was hoping for better quite honestly.
Mesa wait is 7-8 months now. The numbers are for two ten shot groups.

i have enough to think bout with my CF stuff. if i tried to shoot the 22 accuracy stuff a lng with it would likely drive me over the edge. o_O it is interesting though. id like to see somebody shoot at one of these testing places. looks like the one in OH is a 400 mile rnd trip for me so i prob wont make it.

That actually not bad for the CZ. I’ve taken a few CZ’s and your results are slightly better than my three trips.

I took my Anschutz M54 for a Lapua test recently. I was quite impressed with the fixed rest set-up so I decided I would have a go at building my own heavy bench to test ammo on my local range.

My bench, not quite finished or tested yet. Vice weighs 88lbs and the concrete bench top 94lbs.. It needs to be semi transportable so it breaks down into three parts.

No, just the one group. That lot seems to shoot fairly well and quite relieved to get some really. Although the ammo situation here in the UK does appear to be easing a little, it's still a case of grab it while you can.
These cards are the first round in a couple 25yd competitions I shoot (Shot from the shoulder, no rear bag)

1066,
Can I assume that you were shooting those 25 yd targets off the bench with a bipod or some kind of front rest?
Don
More or less Don. The UK is awash with old target rifles, old BSA Internationals, Anschutz M54, Walthers, Finnish Lions etc. they are available for just a couple of hundred $ but still shoot very well. Over the last 20 years or so, many of the local smallbore rifle clubs/ranges have closed down, so many of these fine old rifles are safe queens gathering dust. Unfortunately many are too heavy, at around 15lb before adding a scope, for conventional BR so to get these rifle back into action, we shoot a modified form of BR. NSRA BR (National smallbore rifle association) The rules for this are , no weight limit, front rest is flat only and butt in the shoulder, the butt may be rested on the non-shooting hand. The targets, as above, are usually 10 bull and shot at 25 and 50yds. (We also shoot standard World Rules BR on the 25 bull target)
This is the 50yd NSRA BR target.
