Staball Match in the 6BR

Digging my 6BR out of the safe now that I have some more time on my hands for the range.
Looking at trying Staball Match in the 6BR with 95gr SMKs.
Hodgdon has some data on their web site that I can start with for 100grs but its not a SMK bullet.
I noticed good results in the 223 with reduced SD using Staball Match and thought it would be a good candidate for the 6BR.
Anybody have any luck using this powder in the 6Br?
I also picked up some 8208 XBR but have yet to try it in anything yet.
Thanks in advance.

Use this data at your own risk.
As usual, with any new powder charge, start low and work your way up looking for pressure signs.
I have a recipe, that'll shoot Mid-Range F-Class High Master scores on a regular basis if I do my part.
Can't help with the 95 SMK data but the below shoots phenomenal in my rifle:
Lapua Brass
Fed 205 primer
105gn Hornady Aeromatch bullet
32.1gn Stabal Match
Seating depth = touch plus .006" into the lands
Bullet interference fit (neck tension) = .002"
2875 fps

That's close to where I am with a Sierra 107. Not a load that I use regularly, but a "spare" for Varget shortages.

Finally got around to trying Stab Match in the 6BR. The data was delayed last week by a round of Sporting Clays :).

26in barrel, 1:7 twist, 95gr SMK, 10 shots each load, Lapua Brass, bullet 0.0in off the lands
27.6gr 2605fps STD 15.6
28.9gr 2644fps STD 12.7

I will continue to experiment, I had limited brass to try with Stab Match this time out as my supply was partially consumed by other loads. I think I have room to up the velocity as the groups improved with the higher load, furthermore, the ceiling for this bullet seems to be around 2700-2800fps with Varget, a similar burn rate power, but I will work up.

That's right in the node that I like - I'll give that load a go. How's the accuracy with Aeromatch?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, every rifle is different. You need to test and tune for best results using your equipment.

I just started using the Garmin chronograph for my load development. Coming off an old Chrony with screens, tripod, and time holding up the firing line while aligning, the Garmin unit is compact and fantastic. I thought it was a little expensive at first but after using both indoor with pistols and outdoor with rifles, its definitely worth it if anyone is on the fence about getting one.

I appreciate your comment - but yours is the first "review" that I have seen that is positive for the Aeromatch. Unfortunately, we haven't seen it yet in NZ and, I, for one, am interested in your results/opinion, say compared to it's expensive cousin from Berger. I'm getting great results from the 107g Sierra. in my BR and Dasher I'm certainly not a Hornady knocker - I have done well with the 75g Match in my 223 - and the now defunct A-max.

I have Plans on using, StaBall Match, in my next Barrel ( .22 BR or, .22 GT ) with, the 50 or, 53 gr. V-Maxes and 55 grain SBK, Bullets, at under, 3,600 fps to keep, the Recoil / Muzzle rise, Down and Accuracy,.. Up !
StaBall 65 is my, Best shooting Powder, in my 6 XC with, 95 gr. to, 108 grain, Bullets and 130 & 143 gr. bullets, in my 6.5 Creed. Hopefully I can find a "Deal", on an 8 Pounder of, the Match,.., Next year !
My Reloading "Life" is, so much Better with, "Thrown Charges" of,.. StaBall !!

Just hard to go past AR2208 {Varget}, CCI450’s, and the new “pointed” Sierra 107’s…
Head them down range at about 2,850-2,875 and SMILE…!
All out of a 1:8 x 28”

Off topic but...my experience none the less:
The Aeromatch 105 bullet is not a direct "plug-n-play" alternative for the Berger 105 bullet. Are you surprised this result runs contrary to marketing claims? I certainly am not! Hell, even different lots of 105 Berger bullets are not direct "plug-n-play". Tweaks to the load are necessary to maintain optimal performance when switching to a different lot/style/brand of the same weight bullet.
