Barrel Cleaning

Maybe someone can shed some light here.
I have a PPC barrel with a few hundred rounds through it. My usual cleaning regimen is to run a few wet patches with Shooters Choice through the barrel then a bronze bore brush through the barrel for a few strokes followed by a wet patch repeating until the wet patch is clean except for a little blue from the brush. I then run two dry patches through the barrel folloowed by several strokes of an oiled patch, then pushing a dry patch through.
I find that the oiled patch picks up something in the grooves. I have seen this to a much lesser extent before on other barrels but not like this.
Below from left to right is the patch after the last bronze brush series. Then a wet patch run back and forth about ten times.
Followed by the oiled patch run through about ten times and the pushed through dry patch.

Here's my routine for my PPC's
one wet patch
Bronze brush with solvent, 5+ strokes
let it sit until I'm ready to shoot again
5+ strokes with bronze brush
2 dry patches
clean chamber
Time and chemicals soaking make it easy work most of the time.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

Dave, usually I don't even use any kind of brush, my last barrel I would use 5 or six wet patches then leave overnight and finish cleaning with a few patches, dry, oil and one stroke with a dry patch, done.

I just came back from recleaning it. 5 strokes with a wet bronze brush, 1 stroke with a wet patch, repeat 8 times. Then 10 strokes with a wet patch, for 4 or 5 patches. At that point they came out clean.
Just for the hell of it I used three patches with rubbing alcohol, the first two just one stroke through the 10 strokes for the last. They all came out spotless.
Next, 10 strokes with a patch and Hoppes oil, came out like the picture in the opening post. I then did 3 more patches with the oil, each one was an improvement, the last one came out nice and white.
At that point I called it good and finished with a dry patch which also came out white.

Not the end of the world, just a bit baffling.

Are you using a bore scope?

Brushes break loose anything the chemicals have softened. I'm not looking for spotless just clean enough. After cleaning, with most barrels, I can trust the first shot.
Then age and the use of abrasives is another discussion.

Agree, this seems excessive though.
