Well, I finally took part in a club match. F class type match at 200 yards. (Farthest the range goes) The match did unlimited sighters and then 30 recorded shots. Really fun time, and I finally see the allure of doing these. This was the first time I've ever even shot next to someone with another rifle. I've done a lot of shotgun next to others but never a rifle.
I was set up with a shot maker and an offset, and a older gentleman who was very nice helped me set everything up. Unfortunately, I didn't know exactly what an offset was and had a hard time getting it to where I needed it. After I did that, they commenced fire. I started off with 3 X's and the gentleman who was helping me stepped in and said I might want to bring it down a click because they looked high. I obliged and then shot a 9 and then moved it back to where I originally had it and was back to shooting.
The guy shooting next to me had a 308win with a muzzle break and it was extremely unpleasant. I'm surprised they actually allowed a break in a club match like this. When he shot, I could feel it in my chest. The garbage can they put next to him to stop the blast didn't do much.
Over all it was an awesome experience and I'll be doing it again. Everyone was awesome and willing to help me, and answered any questions I had. I scored a 299-26x. Not sure if that's even good or where I placed, but I saw a few fellas score sheets and some where shoot factory rifles. So I imagine my 30BR outscored em.
Thanks to everyone on this forum over the years for all the reloading tips and advise too! Thanks to my wife for taking some pictures too!
