3 coyotes

It's sure been awhile for me, and I miss it. Won't be doing any of it this year due to foot repair. I hope y'all post lots of pics and stories. jd

I have been using the 87 gr v-max at a little over 3400 fps, with good results. There are some that do not exit on body shots around 100yds, may I ask your opinion of this bullet?
I use in my 6 creed and 243. Devastating on are northern coyotes.
Running them at 3,250 ish.
The 75 vmax works great as well. Both are not very fur friendly.

But fur here is not worth much these days. I do it for the land owners now.

Good shooting! Makes me want to get out again soon. Some of my fondest recollections of hunting them are when a number of them are all coming in at the same time - the adrenaline gets going!
One morning in pretty thick fog, we had five on them (as near as we could count) appear from the fog, and do about a half circle and depart. We never got one of them. jd

I live on the edge of the city and I have a pack of five or six around my house at night regularly. I've been very tempted to buy a .25 or .30 cal. PCP air rifle to work them over - but the "wildlife lovers" would end up with my hide in the end.

Yeah, we've also got quite a few locals that hang around our little neighborhood/town. This time of year I hear them in the distance, howling and yipping as a pack. Prolly same family.
Later in deep winter, I'll find tracks, usually a pair, coming down our dead end road. They often make a loop into my yard and driveway, and I know they're looking for a tasty cat. jd

I'm thinking that we all oughta be calling skunks. Skunk pelts are selling for what coyotes used to. I'm thinking the "squeaking mouse" call, or maybe baby bird. :) jd
