I'm at a loss

Can't get to range until Sunday.
It's definitely an elevation issue, not windage. I'll say it again..there was NO wind.
You all have thinking that I may have double dialed. But I remember going back to zero and starting over. So, maybe not.
Sunday will tell the story.
I have no clue, but the story sure is interesting. Please do update us.

Today was the worst day of shooting I've ever had. I can't figure out what's wrong.
3 weeks ago I shot a 598 with lots of X's and took 2nd place. Came home, did the normal
cleaning routine and put rifle in safe. Took it out this AM and went to a new range. Shooting steel
at 600, 800, 900 & 1000. I was excited as I've never shot past 600. I had dope off a ballistic app to get me started.
Started at 600 with my normal 600 dope. ???? Missed the whole 24" piece of steel. shot 3 more with the same result.
OK, now I'm worried. Checked scope and base, all tight. Checked action screws, all good. I didn't even bother to try 800 or beyond, what's the point? Something is seriously wrong.
Came home and checked headspace, thinking the barrel nut could have loosened. (Savage #12 target action) Nope, head space was exactly where I initially set it at .002". I also bore scoped it, didn't see anything crazy. PLEASE, DON'T EVERYONE JUMP ON THE CARBON RING WAGON . So what's left? Possibly the scope has died internally. I did check and the crosshairs are moving in all 4 directions as they should. Possible that it's just not holding zero??
I'm going to my home range in the AM and will shoot at 100 yds. At that distance, it's a 1/4 MOA rifle. 6 Dasher.
Shillen barrel 28" 1/7.5 105 Berger Hybrids, Varget.

Any thoughts other than a bad scope that could do this? You don't go from 1/2moa at 600 to totally missing a 24" piece of steel.

Have you checked where your lands are now..as opposed to where they were at the beginning with the original bullet you used?

Not trying to be rude but there's no such thing. There's wind, youre just ignoring it.
I've been doing this a long time.
Yes, according to physics or whatever, there has to be wind.
BUT, when we say no wind, we mean none of consequence. Be real, a 1 mph wind isn't going to blow a bullet completely off target at 600yds.
I'm not ignoring anything. I was there, you were not.

Had a friend experience that and he had a bur on his crown. He didn’t remember doing it or how it happened, but it happened. Got that straightened out and it went back to business as usual. I’m curious of the outcome. I hope you find the problem and let us know.

A lot of people when using shot marker target dial it down a couple MOA so you don’t shoot out the bullseye. So if that were the case and you were shooting an actual 600 yds you might not be hitting steel. I had that issue once, in the beginning and wondered what the heck happened to my dope? Now at tourneys I always how far shot marker is offset

First time I experienced that was at Linden Al. Nobody told that they dial it down. Went nuts. Then someone told me. Had to come down 3 moa from normal.

Yeah they dial down 2 moa to not shoot up targets.

I witnessed a non member at this range roll up with a probably $6-7000 rig.he could not get on target with unlimited sighters
He couldn't compete that day he could not get on target .

Luckily he didn't shoot owners electronics but I felt bad for him.i guess no one knew him to help him? idk he couldn't wasn't allowed to shoot that day holding up the match

These are good people but ole country boys you gotta ask for help.

Pretty much have your dope ready prior to match was the consensus
